TRANSPORTING SOLAR PANELS
Investing in PV installation usually means you’re looking for the high-quality components, that you can safely offer your customers. Unfortunately, not everyone is aware of the importance of the whole process of delivering the panels directly to your company or your customers. In order to provide your client with the best PV service, it is good to know how the overall PV logistics involving: packaging, transporting and unloading should be maintained properly.
What do we protect them from?
Due to bad logistics, even well-produced, fragile PV panels might end mechanically damaged, cracked, scratched or simply broken, unable for further montage and usage. That can not only jeopardise our reputation as a proffesionalist but also cause additional, unwanted costs. The most dangerous threat is what we cannot notice with the naked eye: small material flaws in the shape of microcracks of the panels, which in the future can cause serious damage to our PV system, developing for instance, so-called hot spots, especially hazardous in overshadow.
Transporting solar panels – how to do it correctly?
There isn’t one answer to that question, as there are no officialy standarded manuals established for transporting solar panels. On the other hand, there are few solutions to minimize the risks described above.
Do not neglect the significance of safe, efficient packaging of the solar panels:
-Inserting solar panels into transparent, clear packages, so the delivery workers can observe the panels.
-Packing the panels vertically- to minimize weight stress to modules. Banding the pallets and securing them with protections and separators beetween each panels.
-Crating the panels, however it comes with additional costs.
Monitor and control your panels during the journey:
-Monitoring your components should not only be done by human eye but to make sure your panels will be delivered ‘accident-free’ you can use avaialable controlling systems to gain a warranty in order to cover the hazards with transporting process.
It is important to realize that beyond the proper process of production and trasporting solar panels, the installation past has a big influence on how the PV system works.
Can the modules be mounted individually by customers or should it be handled by proffesional installers? To find out more information on that topic, please read about solar panel cost .
